Be Sure To Use Your 2018 Dental Benefits

Be Sure To Use Your 2018 Dental BenefitsThe end of the calendar year is filled with things to think about: the holidays, taxes, New Year’s Resolutions, etc. Depending on where you work, you may be thinking about using those vacation days you have saved up. You also may be thinking about your 2018 dental insurance coverage. Most dental insurance plans run on the fiscal year and many do not have benefits that roll into the next year. If you live in or near Fort Worth, TX, please feel free to contact 7 Day Dental with any questions about dental insurance or any type of financing. Money should not keep you from good oral health.

Maximize Your Coverage

Most dental insurance plans (even Medicaid and CHIP) cover preventive dental services such as exams, x-rays, and routine cleanings. Commonly a plan will cover these things for twice a year. If you have not visited the dentist twice in 2018, be sure to do that before the end of the year. Prevention is imperative to oral health and it starts with a visit to the dentist. Talk to your dental team about any of your questions about your insurance coverage as they are trained to help you sort through the details.

Some Benefits Do Not Rollover

Most insurance plans have an annual maximum and some have a deductible. Under certain plans if you meet your deductible, you may have the rest of your needs covered. However, in the new year, the deductible will start back at $0. If you have already reached your deductible, it would be beneficial to get any other needs taken care of within this fiscal year. Preventive coverage (like the benefits mentioned above) also will usually not roll over into the next calendar year. Not using your 2018 insurance coverage could mean leaving money on the table.
