7DayDental_InternalPhotos_Bonding&ContouringMask Flaws and Enhance the Shape of Your Teeth

Bonding and contouring are two trusted, virtually discomfort-free procedures that can dramatically enhance your smile. Both treatments are quick and affordable, designed to correct blemishes, such as chips and cracks. Contouring can even alter the shape and size of your teeth. Before beginning treatment, Dr. Jing or one of our other dentists will provide a complete consultation and help you determine the right procedure for your needs.

Dental Bonding

With dental bonding, your cosmetic dentist will apply tooth-colored composite resin to the surface of your teeth, using the material to conceal cracks, chips, discoloration, worn edges, and other flaws. To perform this treatment, he or she will first thoroughly clean the tooth or teeth to be treated. Then the dentist will use a mild acid solution to lightly etch your tooth, creating a stronger bonding surface for the dental composite. When your tooth has been prepped, he or she will coat your tooth in the material, which will be carefully selected to match the natural shade of your smile. With great precision and an artistic eye, the dentist will sculpt and smooth the resin before hardening it with a curing light. Finally, he or she will trim away any extra material and polish your tooth to give it a natural sheen.

Dental bonding offers many of the same advantages and results as porcelain veneers. However, this treatment is often a more economical option for those on a budget.

Dental Contouring

If your teeth are worn, chipped, or proportionately large, you may be a good candidate for dental contouring. During this treatment, Dr. Jing or one of our other outstanding dentists will remove a tiny amount of your enamel with a buffing instrument. Because the amount removed is so small, the procedure involves very little discomfort, and most patients do not require any sort of anesthesia. This efficient procedure typically takes 30 minutes to an hour, but it can dramatically improve your smile for life.
